Being the holder of both the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFPcm) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLUcm) professional designations, Nigel is also a Fellow of FINSIA – Financial Services Institute of Australasia (F Fin) and a Fellow of Financial Advice New Zealand, he has been at the forefront of Financial Planning in NZ since 1988. He has lectured in Financial Planning at both the University of Waikato and Massey University. Nigel focuses on the needs of his clients and develops strategies to assist them to achieve their objectives with the least amount of acceptable risk. While specializing in Comprehensive Financial Planning he meets his clients needs of the various elements as part of the process.
Having been a board member for the Professional Body for eight years, Nigel spent the last four years there as the President while representing NZ on the International body for Financial Planning, the Financial Planning Standards Board out of Denver, Colorado, assisting from 2007 to 2012 with the development of Global standards for 203,000 professionals from over 26 territories.
Since his retirement from the IFA Board, Nigel has been appointed a Justice of the Peace and now contributes to his community and the Royal Federation of New Zealand Justices Associations, being appointed to the role of National Vice President, He is also a Waikato Justices of the Peace Association Past President.
Nigel also spent three years as a Board Member and Commissioner for the Insurance and Financial Services Ombudsman (IFSO) deputes resolution scheme.
A father of four daughters, and with one grand-son and a young step son with partner Lany, Nigel is kept busy with family events but manages to spend a day most weeks playing golf, his other passion is travel where he has visited over 43 countries and counting and has experienced the different cultures that go with that.
