Michael Dowling is a Financial Adviser in Wellington. A shareholder and director of Stratus Financial Services Ltd that offers specialist financial advice to support their clients in Superannuation, Investment, and Insurance advice.
Michael has been an adviser since 1989 when he joined AMP as a tiered agent, and is past president of The Association.
He became a Certified Financial Planner in 2006 and a Chartered Life Underwriter in 2007.
Michael was a Board member, 2012 to 2018, the President, 2014 and 2015, then Board Chair 2015 to 2018, of the Institute of Financial Advisers from which, along with the PAA, has been jointly developing a new advice body - Financial Advice New Zealand. Michael was a member of the Establishment Board that was tasked with bringing Financial Advice NZ into being in 2018.
