Greg Harris, Partner Deloitte and tax specialist will updated members on the key proposals from the working group on tax reform. Greg will provide an overview of the impacts the Capital Gains Tax may have on your clients, investing in asset classes and impacts on businesses.
Session 2, 10.30-11.30am
Financial Advice New Zealand released in February the first of six workbooks to assist Members during the full-licensing process and for them to meet their obligations under the new financial services regime from mid next year. These important tools are being released exclusively to our Members. Each workbook will take a duty from the Financial Markets Conduct Act and the first workbook is titled ‘Priority to clients’ interest’
Each workbook is structured in three sections;

your Duties under the revised Act and Financial Advice Code,

examples of adviser conduct in case studies from Approved Dispute Resolution Schemes with relevant case study and reflective questions

worked examples of embedding the Duties and conduct standards into your business processes, procedures and controls
Release dates: The six workbooks will be updated as the new Act, Code and Regulations are released and gazetted. The workbooks will be released to Members at 1-month intervals.
Learning outcome: advisers can demonstrate that they are meeting their duties under the Act, Financial Advice Code and Disclosure Regulations.
Andrew Gunn, Manager Learning and Development will take Members through the structure and methodology in the work book.
