Topic 1 MBIE’s take on the Options Paper on the Conduct of Financial Institutions.

Sharon will talk about the background and some of the issues behind the Options Paper on the Conduct of Financial Institutions and the purpose of the processes undertaken by MBIE

About the Presenter: Sharon Corbett, Principal Policy Advisor, MBIE

Sharon manages the financial markets policy team at the Ministry of Innovation, Business and Employment. She has been leading the Ministry’s team amending New Zealand’s financial advice legislation since the Review commenced in 2014.

Topic 2 Insights into the Wellington Property Market.

Richard will provide  will look at the impact of the insurance premium and re-insurance issues on the local commercial and residential market – as well as the impact of the new regulatory standards (e.g. insulation) on investors in the residential property market.

About the Presenter: Richard Bacon
Richard is the President of the Wellington Property Investors Association Inc. Richard is an entrepreneur and environmentalist, as well as the President for WnPIA and an IT developer.
